They looked so good, I had no idea I’d done it all wrong.
What I used:
6 boneless ribs with BBQ smokehouse seasoning
How I made it:
1. I placed the meat in the crock pot without any liquid because I was afraid it would wash off the seasoning from the meat and cause tasteless meat.
2. I cooked the ribs 6 hours on LOW.
End Result:
So tender, they fell apart as I tried to remove them. This was good. But dry and not very tasty. I had a difficult time swallowing when I ate them. Even the hubby shook his head. 😦
What do you think? Was it lack of liquid? How do you make your ribs?
Lovely meat recipes that did work out:

I’m no cook, but I would think about 4 or 5 tablespoons of something like chicken stock would do the trick, keeping your meat from becoming to dry.
Smart idea pobept. I thought I had it. But no…. 🙂
How does your garden grow these days?
I do a whole chicken in a crock pot without liquid and it always comes out AMAZINGLY! Always fall-apart, moist, delicious. Never tried ribs tho…
Well shoot lauren, I don’t know what I did wrong then. They were not very tasty. 😦
had you used some smoke flavor and soy sauce or tamari, you would have had jerky beef or pemmican. i got plenty of mandibulatory exercise when i tried that!.
now i know to put one spoon of olive oil and any sort of glaze on the meat:
half cup of salad dressing such as Asian or Italian. vinaigrette or honey mustard. brush the ribs thoroughly to cover any hills and cracks …ready for tender meat in six slow hours..
a couple of root veges at bottom of pan help to maintain ambient moisture too.
Nadine—you’re a genius. How is it that you don’t have your own cooking show?
