While we were in the hotel, I had no way to make eggs. Then I thought of the crock pot. Why not? I looked it up on-line and sure enough, it had been tried before. The first time I cooked them too long and they were a real pain to peel. It took me two times to get it perfect, but I did!
Cooks 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours on HIGH. Serves 6 eggs.
What you’ll need:
6 eggs
water
How to make them:
1. Gently place eggs in bottom of crock pot. Depending on the size of your crock pot, you could make more than six. The trick is: DO NOT STACK THEM!
2. Add just enough water to cover the eggs.
3. Cook no longer than 2 hours on HIGH.
4. Turn off and remove eggs immediately. Place eggs in cold water to keep from over-cooking. BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF!
End Result:
Perfect hard-boiled eggs! Handy for a big meal when you need the stove top for something else, to dye Easter eggs, or while camping.(Or if you’re stuck in a hotel room with no way to cook!) I made egg salad out of mine.

Hi Jennifer, Logging into my WordPress blog after a 2 year absence, so was sorry I had missed your comment of 2 years ago about my success with a Welsh Rabbit …Not surprising as I hail from Wales UK where the dish used to be a staple dish for supper. Not so much now, as youngsters here seem to prefer supermarket pre-cooked meals, Yes OKay ! These days more women work and time is shorter for them to prepare meals, than when I was bringing up a family back in the 60’s/70’s. Life in general seemed to be at a slower pace then. I do try to convince any younger acquaintances that home cooked is better and more nutritious. and am always expounding on the virtues of Crock Pot Cooking…………
I am now reading your Blog with interest, some lovely recipes which I shall now be trying. Incidentally we have the same Christian name, although I am much longer in the tooth at the ripe age of 70.
Cheers Jen.
Oh how fun, Miss Jennifer! I’m so happy to hear my blog posts are entertaining. I will try again with the Welsh rarebit, I will not give up. I look forward to reading more of your posts if you are back. I remember that meal well. 🙂 Thank you so much for your comment!
